Workforce fit

Who this workplace training is built for

This program is designed for employee groups that need practical emergency-response skills beyond a healthcare-only BLS audience. Written requirements should still decide the final course and provider path.

Designated workplace responders

Employees assigned to an emergency team, AED response plan or workplace safety role can train together around the responsibilities they are expected to carry.

Office and facilities teams

Facilities, security, front desk, operations and employee volunteers can build a coordinated response plan for cardiac arrest, choking and common injuries.

Schools, childcare and youth programs

Teachers, coaches, caregivers and support staff should provide the exact age-group, First Aid and provider requirements named by their employer or program.

Construction, hospitality, fitness and venues

Field crews and guest-facing teams can train around changing shifts, active worksites, event schedules and customer coverage.

Course scope

What employees learn

The selected course determines the exact lesson plan and completion result. A combined workplace program commonly brings together the following practical response skills.

Recognizing cardiac arrest and starting CPR

Employees practice recognizing an unresponsive person, activating the emergency response plan and beginning age-appropriate CPR within the selected course scope.

Using an AED

Participants practice powering on an AED trainer, following prompts, placing pads and coordinating safe AED use with ongoing CPR.

Responding to choking

The course addresses how to recognize and respond to choking within the age groups included in the selected program.

Handling common First Aid situations

When First Aid is included, employees review practical response for bleeding, sudden illness and other common workplace emergencies covered by the course.

Credential selection

Choose the provider and credential your workplace requires

A course title alone is not enough. Send the exact language from the employer, contract, license, school or safety policy before a provider path is confirmed.

We will recommend a path from the information you provide, but the organization remains responsible for confirming that the selected course meets its requirement.

  • If the requirement names AHA BLS, use the dedicated AHA BLS program instead of a general workplace class.
  • If it names Red Cross, HSI or another provider, include that exact provider and course wording in the request.
  • If no provider is named, describe the employee roles and the completion documentation the organization expects.
  • Skills-only practice must be clearly separated from any course that issues a certification or completion card.

Course mix

CPR/AED only or CPR/AED with First Aid?

CPR/AED focuses on cardiac arrest, AED use and choking response. Adding First Aid broadens the session to common injuries and sudden illnesses covered by the selected program.

  • Choose CPR/AED only when that is the written requirement or defined workplace goal.
  • Add First Aid when designated responders are expected to address injuries and illness as well as cardiac emergencies.
  • Keep First Aid supplemental. It does not replace AHA BLS when BLS is specifically required.
  • Separate employee groups when clinical and general workplace roles need different courses.

Onsite process

How group training works at your site

Confirm roles and requirements

List employee roles and provide the exact provider, course and credential language that must be followed.

Set the group size and schedule

Share headcount, shifts, deadlines and every location so the session plan can be built around actual operations.

Prepare the training space

Confirm a suitable room, site access, parking or loading details, and any workplace restrictions the instructor should know.

Complete the selected course

Employees complete the required instruction, hands-on practice and evaluation for the chosen program. Applicable documentation follows successful completion.

Employer questions

Workplace CPR and First Aid questions

Is this the same as AHA BLS?

No. AHA BLS is a defined Basic Life Support course commonly specified for healthcare-track roles. Use the AHA BLS page when the requirement names BLS.

Can CPR, AED and First Aid be taught in one onsite plan?

Yes, when the selected program and provider path support that combination. The exact course length and completion outcome are confirmed before scheduling.

Can different departments take different courses?

Yes. Clinical, general workplace and skills-only groups can be separated while still being coordinated under one workplace training request.

Do employees receive cards?

Employees in a certification course receive the applicable course documentation only after meeting its successful-completion requirements. Skills-only practice does not issue a certification card.

Can sessions be split around shifts?

Often, yes. Share the headcount by shift and the operational windows that need to remain covered so the schedule can be evaluated.

Can several locations be included?

Yes. Include every address, employee group and preferred timeframe so coverage and sequencing can be reviewed together.
